About Jacques Yarris

Jacques Yarris (b. 2004) is an Italian-American composer and trombonist born in Geneva, Switzerland and raised in South Florida. With works for wind ensemble, orchestra, and chamber ensembles having been performed around the world, he has experience in writing, arranging, and rehearsing for all types of ensembles and genres. His saxophone quartet OverCrisp was was premiered at the U.S. Navy Saxophone Symposium and named a finalist for the Hierax Quartet's 2025 call for scores. He is currently studying at the University of Miami Frost School of Music under Dr. Scott Stinson, and has studied with resident composers Chen Yi and Marcos Balter.
