About Jacques Yarris

Jacques Yarris (b. 2004) is an Italian-American composer and trombonist born in Geneva, Switzerland and raised in South Florida. With works for wind ensemble, orchestra, and chamber ensembles having been performed around the world, he has experience in writing, arranging, and rehearsing for all types of ensembles and genres. His saxophone quartet OverCrisp was was premiered at the U.S. Navy Saxophone Symposium and named a finalist for the Hierax Quartet's 2025 call for scores. He studied at the University of Miami Frost School of Music under Dr. Scott Stinson, along with resident composers Dr. Chen Yi, Dr. Marcos Balter and Andrew Norman. He will be attending the Jacobs Schools of Music at Indiana University for his Masters in Composition, studying under Dr. David Dzubay.
