Wildfire

“Wildfire” explores the often overlooked world of non-pitched percussion instruments. Many other aspects of music can be explored and focused on in more depth without the distraction of traditional pitch. In particular, this piece gives a great deal of attention to different grooves and the different ways they can be manipulated or added upon with the different timbres of each instrument. This allows a solid foundation for melodic material that takes advantage of the little pitch material that the instruments provide while still letting rhythmic content take the lead.
